Dr. Kaitlin McDaniel

Kait played tennis and was a cheerleader during high school. In college, she ran recreationally and worked out in campus gyms. She found CrossFit Nittany in August 2012 and loves how it pushes her outside of her comfort zone to make her a better person. Kait is one of the few members who admits to liking the airdyne!

Something most people don’t know about Kait? Her favorite place in the world (outside of CrossFit Nittany, of course) is Sunlight Basin in the Shoshone Forest back home in Wyoming. She grew up camping there in the summer and says, “It is one of the most beautiful places. You should go Google it. Seriously.”

Advice for someone new to or thinking about starting CrossFit:
CrossFit is hands down the best thing I’ve ever done. It has made me physically, mentally and emotionally stronger and healthier than I could have imagined. It is consistently one of the best hours of my day and I always leave feeling happy, strong and empowered. Everybody can do Crossfit – your need to be able to squat or pick up your kid does not vary from another person’s need to be a professional athlete. You will consistently surprise yourself. And don’t worry about not understanding any of the words or abbreviations like cleans and HSPU. Soon you’ll be speaking the language too.

When I’m not CrossFit-ting, I’m:
A graduate student in the Pathobiology doctorate program at Penn State. I study how vitamins regulate the intestinal immune system. I also enjoy cooking, reading, crocheting, hiking, and fishing.

Words I Live By:
“A life without cause is a life without effect.” It reminds me to live my life with a purpose, on purpose.
